What Can Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Do For You?

we help women and men improve their physical well being by easing pelvic
and core dysfunction, including bladder and bowel leakage, hip pain, low back pain, pelvic pain, sexual
dysfunction or pain/sensation issues with intimacy, post partum weakness/pain (whether vaginal or c-
section), and generalized pelvic/trunk weakness that impacts pelvic joint in order to restore your body
and confidence to return to your daily and higher level activities. With our time together, we will work
to determine the root cause of your limitations including weakness, tension, and poor awareness of how
to utilize your body efficiently and effectively, and ultimately provide lifelong tools to return you back to
activities that you enjoy.

RACHEL NICHOLSON
PHYSICAL THERAPIST

I love physical therapy because physical therapy offers a crucial key to returning individuals to a higher
level of function and a better quality of life, no matter what level of activity that means for each
individual. While obtaining my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Rockhurst University, I had the
opportunity to travel to Ecuador to help individuals with Hansen’s Disease (Leprosy) and other
individuals needing physical therapy services from the surrounding countryside. This really strengthened
my passion for physical therapy and how it can change lives. While completing my physical therapy
program, I realized that pelvic floor rehabilitation was a missing link for many individuals, and decided to
take additional electives and training to learn more. After being in the clinic, I realized my passion for
pelvic floor and decided to specialize further. I am very passionate about what I do and who I get to
help. Pelvic health physical therapy offers non-invasive solutions to problems, encourages people to
take an active role in addressing their limitations, and empowers people with skills and knowledge on
how to manage any issues that may arise with their pelvic healthcare needs in the future.
